Vibram Fivefingers

You are probably wondering what the heck kind of shoes are these! We'll let me give you as much info as I know then I will give you the website to more detailed info on these bad boys!!

Anyways I saw these a few people were these last year and always was curious about them but never really asked or researched on them until I saw I guy wear them last week. So I did some research and got some good info on the Vibram brand.

This was some of the info I picked up on them:
"In Vibram FiveFingers, your feet can move naturally and flex easily. Five individual toe slots let your toes separate gently, stabilizing your body and providing unrivaled balance and increased muscle stimulation to feet, ankles and lower legs. Our ultra-thin Vibram® sole delivers a sure-footed grip to help generate torque during power moves, and it enhances feedback and lowers your center of gravity to improve balance and agility. By putting your feet on a flat plane, without the downward angle caused by the heel lift in traditional shoes, your posture and alignment will improve and your joints and back will be in position for you to get the most out of your power movements.
When your whole body is engaged from the ground up, you’re able to train at a higher level. With Vibram FiveFingers, you can count on increased balance, performance and an overall sense of control during fitness and strength conditioning."

Great stuff right?! We'll I picked up my pair of Vibram Fivefinger KSO in Black and Grey Camouflage (same as the ones on top) and can't wait to use them tomorrow. I'm so stoked! I'll let you guys know how it goes in the Beach Body post.

If you want more info or are interested in picking up a pair, then go to http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/index.htm

Introducing..... Oscar

Hey everyone!

Let me introduce to the new member of my family, Oscar! (No, not for Oscar Meyer Winer! We'll maybe! lol!)

I never thought I would be a dog owner, but for the first time in my 24 yrs. of life, I am one. I got to tell you though, it is no walk in the park. I have had snakes, frogs, turtles, bearded dragons, birds, fish, but not a dog. This is a whole nother level.

The first night he was crying so much that I had to wake up at 3am and attend to him. Let me repeat, THIS IS A DOG, NOT A BABY! I didn't think dogs needed this kind of treatment, but I found out that baby dogs do.

We'll Oscar is 6 months old, and very smart. He is a Dachshund (Winer Dog). I am having lots of fun with him. Now I have someone I can talk to that listens! jk!

Me and my wife have been managing him pretty good, when it comes to feeding, discipline, potty training, etc. But I am calling on all dog savvy people. Those with years of experience under there belt.

I NEED YOUR HELP!

What helpful tips, encouragement, advice, etc can you give to a rookie dog owner like me? Share your stories

A Night with...... Benjah

What is going on blog nation!

Friday night was sweet.... Our church hosted a special guest artist, my man, Benjah!

He is a pure reggae and hip-hop singer, that speaks deeply on the Word of God. I really enjoyed what he brought.

Check out the video. (Sorry about the rotation, I don't know what I was thinking, it was off my phone, not the best.)

You can check out more of his music at http://www.myspace.com/benjahmusic

So, if you were with me there Friday night, how did you enjoy the concert?

The GodFather

Hey blog nation! Great news, me my wife are God parents to a wonderful baby boy named Michael Daniel Rivera! Woohoo! I was so fired up when the parents told us, but now what? Obviously I know that there is a spiritual responsibility that me and my wife have towards this baby boy, but I want to do more than that. Every God parent I have ever met is hardly ever in the child's life, and I don't want that. I want to be the coolest, and most involved God parent there has ever been. Is there anything wrong with that? I don't think so.

I can't wait to see this little booger grow up! I want to thank Josh and Ylonka (the parents) for giving me and Jennifer another 2 years of freedom and good sleep! ZZZZZZZZ! You guys ROCK!

Above is our God son Michael Daniel Rivera. He is super fired up!

What a Night....

Hey everyone! Let me ask a question to any of you worship leaders, Have you ever had to lead a worship set and preach that service? I did last night. It was actually the third time I have done it and each time it is a blessing. Last night was our once a month Youth Rally where our target is to reach more of the newbies or visitors, so we bring different songs, different preachings, it is just a different service than normal. So last night was great. I thought the attendance was going to be low but a lot of people showed up. For the worship portion of the service we did a total of 5 songs and 2 of them were new. Here is the worship set:

1. I'm not Ashamed (Hillsong United) - C
2. Run (Hillsong United) - Eb
3. Control (Mutemath) - B
4. Sing to the Lord (Hillsong United) - A
5. Take it All (Hillsong United) - B

Worship was amazing. Our new ones were #1 & 4. I am so proud of my worship team for stepping up and getting these songs.
Once worship was over I stepped up and preached a message titled "The time is now". It was a word that ministered to me. I told our sound tech to record it but He forgot, so I really have nothing for you to hear. But I will redue it and put in my podcast for you to enjoy as well.

But one of the best parts of the night was seeing my music mentors, Manny & Nelitza Gonzalez come to our service last night all the way from North Carolina. That meant so much to me. These are the people that took me under there wing when I began this journey in the worship team. I am who I am today because of there teaching, commitment, love, and example to me as worship leaders. They also got to receive the word I got, so they pretty much got the full package from me. After Service we enjoyed wings at Ale House. We spoke so much about worship, life, etc. If it wasn't for the time we would have been so much more longer. I love them so much!

Thank you for your prayers, persistance, love, and belief in me and my wife. We will never forget you's.

Do you have music/worship mentors in your life? Speak about them, I want to hear from you.

Until next time
Stay blessed people!

Introducing.....

Hey everyone! Last night I was at Gloria's Cafe in Orlando, FL having our once a year leadership dinner with our pastors. I've been with you guys for about a good 3-4 months, but I haven't introduced you's to some of my leadership partners and pastors. We'll here they are.....

These are some of my leadership partners (or my partners in crime) that I work with on a regular basis (some more than others). There leadership abilities range from children's leadership, Women's Ministry, Men's Ministry, Young adults leadership, Sunday school teachers, small group leaders, dance leaders, Consolidation leaders, etc.

Here is our Pastor's youth leadership team. Let me introduce you....

Starting on your left we have my beautiful, sweet hearted wife Jennifer, next to her is your's truly me Johnny. Followed by the talented Emely Gonzalez and next to her is her husband, the crazy clown of our team Tommy Gonzalez (every team has to have a guy that can bring laughs and that is him.) Next to him is my main man and anointed preacher Gaby Rodriguez followed by the sweet and loving Sanely Rodriguez. Next to her is the gifted rapper/drummer, Dave Diaz aka Rev. In the bottom we have our wonderful, exciting, fun, full of energy, Pastor Lisa Rosario (no she is not sticking up the middle finger in the picture! Please people she is a Pastor!)

Who is missing? The man full of wisdom, humbleness, and knowledge, Pastor Victor Rosario. And also the sweet, open minded, idea bringing, workaholic, Lisa Velasquez.

I see these people at least 3 times a week (is that a lot or what!) Each and everyone one of them brings passion, creativity, love, and fun to anything that we do. Whether it is a corporate set meeting, service or a dinner. We know how to be productive and fun at the same time. Each and everyone of them has been a blessing to me and Jennifer's life. That is why we call them family.

Here our my Pastor's. They are the Associate Pastor's of our Chuch. Starting in the middle with the humble, wise, and patient Pastor Danny Mercado and next to him is his wife the confident, tough love, women of God Pastor Maria Mercado.
And last but not least is our Senior Pastor's. Starting to your left (with the scarf) is our humble, gentle, loving, prophet, Pastor Julie Alvarez. Next to her is my mentor, spiritual father, the humble servant, best preacher in Orlando, FL!, and prophet Pastor Rocky Alvarez.

These are the wonderful people that God has put next to me and my wife. You will see and hear more from these individuals in the months and years to come as I continue to take you into The Life of a Worshiper!

Until next time!

Stay blessed
