It's my Birthday!!!!

(I would take this cake any day!)
Happy Birthday to me!!
I turn 26 today!

Awesome quote from a friend of mine today, which said.."DAAAAADAAAAA........ Happy Birthday! :) You've officially crossed the half-way mark to 50!..."

I'm I turning to the Dark Side now?

Do the wrinkles start coming?

Do the grey's start shinning and/or multiplying?

Will it start getting harder to get out of bed?

More Aches & Pains?

No matter what may come my way I am still super stoked and thankful for another year of life and can't wait for what this year is going to bring in my life and in my families life.

To God be all the Glory!!

Favorite Hobby Growing Up....

Growing up my one of my favorite things to do was play with my wrestling toys!!

Dude I would reenact everything. I would be the ring announcer, commentator, I would do the voice overs for every wrestler, you name, it I did it.!!!

I got so into it that my mom would get worried for me. But I didn't care, I was in my world, having fun!

After 12 yrs. I ran into my wrestling collection over the weekend and it brought back so much memories. I told my mom, "I'm going to pass this on to my son when he gets old enough". And that is what I am going to do.

What was your favorite hobby growing up?

Are you surrounded by Editors?

Are you surrounded by Editors?
You are probably asking yourself, "What is this guy talking about". I am talking about Life Editors!

We all need one, read below an insert that I read this morning from Worship Leader regarding this...

I had dinner with Max Lucado last year, and he said his editors sent back his latest book marked up in red. Can you imagine? Can you imagine telling Max he needed to change anything? I wouldn’t have the guts, much less the sensibilities, to actually say what of his words aren’t terrific. But Max surrounds himself by editors who will tell him the hard truths. These are trusted friends, and they’ve been working with him for years. And they are also part of the reason he’s sold more than 60 million books. He said the latest rounds of edits were hard to take. He said he thought by now he’d be a “good writer.” But he took them in, he sat down, and he edited the book...

But this isn’t a post about editing books. It’s a post about editing your life. If you are like me, it’s easy to surround yourself with people who don’t tell you about your blind spots, your weaknesses. I told my friend Dave about a piece of criticism that was thrown at me last month, and he helped me dismiss it as a person consumed with bitterness. But he didn’t stop there; he asked me why I was sensitive about it and pointed out that part of that person's criticism was actually true. And you know what? Dave was right. He wisely helped me separate the criticism from the motive of the messenger. A friend who can do this for you is a friend indeed.

Not having people around who can show us our blind spots is a sure path toward self-destruction. I’m not talking about surrounding yourself with critics. People who offer empty criticism, especially if they don’t know you, are of little help. But if you have friends who are honest with you about your character defects, and yet are obviously for you, you’ve been given a gift.

Here are a few tips on editing your life:
1. Ask for criticism from people who care about you and love you.
2. If you are sensitive about some criticism that has been thrown at you, there’s a good chance some of it is true. Analyze that, separate it from the messenger who may not have your best interests at heart, and work on that area of your life.
3. If you suspect a friend is competitive with you or controlling, don’t include them in your circle of editors. They aren’t going to be able to give you objective advice.
4. Don’t get into an editing relationship with a person who can’t see their own faults or admit to their mistakes. These people are usually the fastest to offer criticism of you, but it’s not objective or helpful criticism.

Relationships with good life editors (lets just call them good friends) are gold. If you find one, hold on to it forever.

So are you surrounded with Life Editors?

WRITE & CARRY

Have you ever read the book of Habakkuk? Did you even know that book existed in the Bible?

Maybe, maybe not, it doesn't matter, what matters is what is written in Habakkuk 2:2-3, that I really urge you to read.

2 Then the Lord said to me,
“Write my answer plainly on tablets,
so that a runner can carry the correct message to others.
3 This vision is for a future time.
It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently,
for it will surely take place.
      It will not be delayed.

God has place a vision, dream, goal (whatever you want to call it) in all of us.
Scripture says to "Write the vision on plain tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to other" Two words that stick out to me is WRITE & CARRY.

Why?

1. WRITE: So that you always remember what God has place in your life and never forget your purpose in life

2. CARRY: So that you walk with purpose. Pursuing the correct path towards that vision, dream, goal, etc.

What do you think? Would love to get your feedback!

Are we Seeing the Death of Christian Media?

From an article in churchleaders.com titled "The Death of Christian Media", here is an interesting insert.

"We have created a phenomenal subculture with our own media, entertainment, educational system, and political hierarchy so that we have the sense that we’re doing a lot. But what we’ve really done is create a ghetto that is easily dismissed by the rest of society".- Bob Briner, Roaring Lambs

Collide covered both sides of the issue, but the article does point to a deep divide in the world of Christian music. Should it continue to exist as a niche industry? Should Christians move more into mainstream music? Can the business model hold up? Should it?

In a feature story in Christianity Today magazine on the issue, music marketing consultant Mark Joseph pointed out:

“…The real question is, why should bands have to follow such a circuitous path in order to be in a position to be heard by the mainstream music culture? And for bands like Mute Math who do follow that path, it’s counterproductive to then be marketed as a Christian band. Think of it this way: Would a plumber advertise himself as a 'Christian plumber' if he wanted to serve both believers and non-believers? Perhaps, but then, many non-Christians with clogged toilets might not hire him because of that designation. But if he simply presents himself as a 'plumber'—still intending to do a great job and prepared to discuss his faith with any interested clients—he’s likely to get more business, earn a better living, and interact with more non-believers. Using 'Christian' as an adjective— whether you’re a plumber or a musician—is little more than a weapon, used to beat back people who might otherwise be interested in the service or product offered, but upon hearing that it is 'Christian' are no longer interested.”

Wow, this definitely opened up my eyes to see how things are changing in the Christian Music industry.

What do you think about the Christian Music Industry? Is there a death taking place in this industry? Should Christians move more into mainstream music? Would love to hear your take on this.

Beach Body: Series 1: Part 5

What's going on everyone!

Hope your weekend was awesome, because mine definitely was!
Woke up this morning at 5am feeling pretty good. Still soar but I can tolerate it with a few messages from the wifey.

Started my morning with:

Light Cardio - 12min.
  • Mainly to warm up my body and muscles and get good blood flow.
Abdominals
  • Frog Kicks (As you can see Abs is something I do every time I'm at the gym.)
  • Superset: Leg Raises w/ Bicycle Crunches

Shoulders

  • Superset:One armed standing Arnold Presses w/ Standing Resistant Band Military Presses
  • Superset: Lying one armed dumbbell Military Presses w/ Upside Down Vertical Push Up Presses
Anterior Deltoids (Front Delts)

  • Superset: EZ Bar Front Raises w/ One Armed Front Resistant Band Raises
Lateral Deltoids (Mid Delts)
  • Superset: EZ Bar Upright Row w/ One Armed Resistant Band Lateral Raises
Posterior Deltoids (Back Delts)
  • Dumbbell Seated Rear Lateral Raise
  • Lying Dumbbell Seated Rear Lateral Raise
Light Cardio - 12min.

Your probably wondering, WHAT IS A SUPERSET?
  • Super setting is an advanced training method in which you do two exercises, one after the other, with no rest in between. The exercises can be for the same muscle group or two different muscle groups, depending on your goals. The idea is to do one exercise and, instead of resting and doing another set, doing a different exercise and alternating those exercises for your desired number of sets.
Great overall workout. Now I just got to find sometime to rest. But I got to say I'm feeling very good and I know that it is just a matter of a short time that I will be closer to my Beach Body!

Have you started working on your Beach Body this year?

The Playoffs: Packers Dominate! Recap/Highlights

What can I say! Another dominating performance by my beloved Green Bay Packers. The Super Bowl has never smelled so close and good!! I got to be honest with you though, with all the injuries and close overtime games that we lost during the regular season, I was getting worried that we would not be a threat in the post-season or by that even make the post-season. But here we are in the NFC Championship Game! One game away from the Super Bowl. Here is what took place:

Great Offense/Passing/Rushing: Aaron Rodgers once again leading the offense to one of the best performances of post-season history. 31/36, 366 yards, 3 td's. All I can say is WOW! This guy is an absolute beast. If he continues to play this way, theres no way any team can beat us.
Greg Jennings, 8 receptions, for 101 yards.
Starks didn't have a big game like in Philadelphia but he gave us some big first downs when we needed it and kept the clock running.
James Starks 25attempts for 66yards.
Also Packers set team record for most points scored in a single post-season game with 48.

Great Defense: This defensive unit is SERIOUS!! If you haven't heard, Clay Mathew was named Defensive Player of the Year last week. That makes 2 consecutive Green Bay Packer seasons with Defensive Players of the Year. Last year it was Charles Woodson and this year it is Clay Mathews. Check out the article here. Back to game these were the stats.
5 sacks
2 interceptions
1 Forced Fumble
One word, BEASTY!!!

I clearly ain't expecting anyone to give us the respect the we deserve and I also don't want any bang wagon jumpers joining this Packers team either. But however watched this game knows that this team is dangerous. So like I said, the Super Bowl is smelling good and near and the only thing that can beat us is ourselves.

WATCH OUT WORLD HERE COMES THE GREEN AND GOLD!!!

Regrets

Check out this Vid!

What did you regret doing or not doing in 2010?

A regret of mine in 2010 was being CONTENT with how things were in my life. Not having the fire or determination to keep moving forward kept me in a stand still. I feel like I could've done more in a lot of areas in my life. To the more you hold on to your past the less you can move forward towards you future. So this is New Year to believe and move forward in all areas in my life.

Your turn

The Playoffs: Packers Win! Recap/Highlights

Hey everyone, I just want to say that I am super hyped right now! I feel like running around my neighborhood and screaming at the top of my lungs! lol Seriously though, I am really happy with the Packers performance last night. Im not just saying this because I am a die hard Packer Backer but I really saw everything that a team needs to be a Super Bowl champion in the Packers last night.

Great Offense/Passing: Aaron Rodgers passing for 180 yards, 3 TD's, and 0 INT's
That is amazing stats. I got to say that having Rodger under center does not make me nervous like Favre did. Seriously every snap that Favre took I would be bitting my nails off!

Great Offense/Running: I called it from the beginning. When me and my brother were getting the wings for the game, I told him, "What out for James Starks!" my brother said "Who". All night he was giving me props about this guy. Let me give you some stats on him.
23 touches for 123 yards. And can I remind you that he is a ROOKIE!!!

Great Defense: You've heard the old clique, "Defense wins championships", and that is true. I got to admit that I was really nervous as to how the Packers Defense would face up to Vick. But after a sack on the first possession of the ball game, I knew something special was going to happen defensively. Let me give you some stats.
3 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 interception! Wow. We kept Philly to a total of 82 yards rushing (that's including Michael Vick!)

These are the things that Champions are made of. Below is a recap of the game. Enjoy

Now next the Atlanta Falcons this Saturday @ 7pm.

He's in Control..

Hey Guys, I was checking out some vids and ran into this incredible one, which reminded of what God can do when we least expect it and how he is in control.

You'll see in the vid, Carlos Whitaker shooting an EPK for his new track titled, God of Second Chances, and out of now where a homeless man approaches Carlos. He gets on his knees and begins to cry and join Carlos in worship. I don't want to say the whole video but watch for yourself, what God can do when you least expect it.

Check it out..

Incredible right? Man, this really moved me this morning. Sometimes we invest so much time into trying to change lives, make an impact in and around us or do something great for God, (and don't misinterpret me, we have to take the appropriate steps to achieve what God wants us to achieve) but we need to understand that when we are walking in God, great things will surround us. We won't have to do so much to make an impact in peoples lives, God will allow it to take place in and around us. And when it happens it will be to let us know that He is the one controlling our lives.

Think about that today.

God Father Chronicles:Chapter 1 Part 1

Hey what is going everyone!
As some of you might know I am caring for my God Son for the next 4 days. Call it training, practice, whatever, but I call it building! Building a good relationship with my God Son.

We'll anyways, I got to admit last night I was a little nervous in bringing him to the house. I didn't know what to expect. Whether he would cry all night, scream all night, be awake all night, I was clueless! But non of the above took place. We got home played for a little, gave him a bath (which was a priceless moment. And no I will not show footage of Michael naked for all you ladies!!!) and he knocked out quick. I surprised at how easy and fast he knocked out.

This morning was hilarious though! I woke up around 5am and everyone is knocked out and I usually don't make to much noise when I am getting ready. Today was a bit different. Me being the 007 agent that I am did pretty well keeping quiet. I did not over some things, which was hilarious, but for the most part everyone stayed asleep. So as I am walking all proud out of the house, I close the door and start walking to the car. Then I realize that I locked myself out of the house without my keys!!!! So, I call my wife and whisper, "Honey, I left my keys in the house, I'm in the front door." I wait about 20 seconds and she cracks the door open and all I see is her face with a huge smile. She knew I tried so hard not to screw up, but I did!!!! I told her, " I have daddyitis!!!"

Check out this video of me waking up Michael this morning. PRICELESS!!!!

Stay tuned as I keep you guys updated with what goes on tonight.
