Sunday Setlist
What's up blog nation! Welcome to The Fuego aka [The Life of a Worshiper]. I am fired up to be sharing with you my Sunday Setlist which is hosted by Fred and other worship leaders at Fred McKinnon.Com.It have been super busy, (like most of you) now that I am the Worship Director for our Worship Arts Department. There have been some changes in my life with this addition but I feel that this is where I am suppose to be right now, for this time.
This Sunday was sweet! Not only because my wife lead the service with me, but because there was such a great atmosphere in the church . It is something unexplainable. Here is our Setlist,
1. We Praise your Name - Jonathon Stockstill
2. Mighty to Save - Hillsong United
3. Pour my love on You - Jonathon Stockstill
4. I'm not ashamed - Hillsong United
This setlist turned out great. Maybe it is just me, but our musicians and singers our sounding great! Not that they never have but they really out did themselves this week. Not only that but the congregation responded to every song, especially Pour my love on you. My wife and I sang that one. I love singing with my wife, she is such an amazing worshiper.
I don't know if you knew but the first time I ever seen her worship, was the moment I fell in love with her (just had to say that!)
Anyways, how did your Sunday Service at your church go?

Great lineup. I am proud of her and the ministry for stepping up when I was gone. Great job guys!
Our pastor has been speaking on a series titled, The Kingdom, and the message was titled "The Life lessons of the Kingdom" It was was a good message! I will add in a clip on it later for you to see.

Sunday Setlist [Birthday Edition]
What's going on blog nation! Welcome to the Life of a Worshiper. I am excited to be sharing with you my Sunday Setlist [Birthday Edition] which is hosted by Fred and other worship leaders at Fred McKinnon.Com.What a great birthday weekend! One of the best birthday's I have ever had! I will be giving you more details in my next post, but for now let me stick to the Sunday Setlist. I lead our congregation at Potter's House Christian Church in Orlando, FL into worship this weekend. Here is our lineup.
1. You're Grace is enough (Chris Tomlin) - A
Great opening song for us. Musically we are right now working with a new drummer for the month of February, so he is getting familiar adjusted to our songs and styles. Anyways the song went really well and the congregation received it well.
2. Sing to the Lord (Hillsong United) - A
Amazing song. Usually we would have done another fast song, as the 2nd song, but I decided to transition into slower songs. This is one of our newest songs that we have done. I played a synth for it and it sounded good musically and vocally. I'm beginning to understand that it takes our congregation probably a month of playing, to learn the song, because they had the, "Is this a new song?" look on them.
3. This is the air I breath [Michael W. Smith] - A
I hope this is the correct title for this song. But man, this song did not go well at all for us. The start of the song went well but once we went to the chorus, the song just collapsed. I didn't have the right notes, our bass player didn't have the right notes, our drummer couldn't get the right timing on this song. So just imagine that scenario. I ended up stopping everything and just beginning to, spontaneously worship God and that turned out great. If God wants to mess up something so He can accomplish His plan, than let it be and that is what happened. Immediately after that I went into How Great is our God.
4. We Shine (Fee) - Dm
Great, great song. Even though we didn't have any guitars for this song, it still turned out awesome. This was our newest song for this weekend. It was purposely brought for our youth in our Raze youth service, but I wanted to bring it to the traditional Sunday service. The congregation loved it and our Pastor fell in love with it as well.
It was our second week discussing the Kingdom of God. Pastor really brought some great insight and perspective on the Kingdom of God.
Overall service was good. I know it could have been better musically, but as long as God moved that is all that matter to me. So have you ever had a musical, vocal or technical meltdown during one of your songs song or entire worship set on Sunday?

Sunday Setlist

What's going on blog nation! Welcome to the Life of a Worshiper. I am excited to be sharing with you my Sunday Setlist which is hosted by Fred McKinnon and other worshipers at Fred McKinnon.Com.
Sorry, I have been out of action last week. I got lazy blogging (do you get like that?). Anyways before I go to my Sunday setlist I want to share with you something new that I am doing here at The Life of a Worshiper.Every Wednesday I will be hosting Spoken Word Wednesday.
Spoken What?
What is a Spoken Word? Spoken word is a form of literary art or artistic performance in which lyrics, poetry, or stories are spoken rather than sung. So if you are gifted in writing, poetry, story telling, rap, etc or have heard someone else give a spoken word, then please feel free to participate and share. All the information you need to participate is over at www.johnnysierra.blogspot.com or you can click here.
Alright here is my Setlist.
1. We Praise your Name (Jonathon Stockstill) - B
Great song! We haven't done this song in a while, so we had to refresh our minds on it, musically.
2. More Love, More Power - C#
Great flow to both of these songs. Once we finished one, we went straight to the other one. Great song. The congregation really received from these first songs as we started our worship service.
3. The more I seek you (Kari Jobe)/ Lord I give you my heart - D
We did a medley with these two songs. They blended very well and the message from both came together as well. God really moved amazingly.
4. You are my Rock - Bb
I enjoyed this song a lot. Very salsaish. Very fun!
Our Pastor started a 3 week series on Matthew 6:33 regarding the Kingdom of God. Amazing Word! Overall worship was exciting and full of God's glory. How did your Sunday service go?

Fasting - Day 13
Hey everyone!Yesterday (Saturday) I completed my 13th day of this 21 day Daniel fast. If you don't know what I am talking about or haven't read my previous posts on my fast click here. My church (Potter's House Christian Church) has incorporated Pastor Jentenzen Franklin's 21 day Daniel fast. To check out every detail of this fast go to Jentenzen Franklin.org
What torture! Yesterday by far was the hardest day of this fast. We celebrated my mother's birthday. I won't tell you how old she is, but she will 50 next year! Oh, did I just say that! Anyways I started off the day, by going over her house and cooking an amazing breakfast for her that I did not get to partake in. I haven't cooked breakfast for my mother since I was about 13 yrs old. It brought back a lot of memories.
So that was the morning, now let me tell you what happened in the evening (because it gets more intense!).
We went to the famous Charley's Steak house. And yes I continued my fast. I did not have any steak, but let me show you what I did have.
Great huh! Happy Birthday mom I love you! You went through pregnancy for me so I will go through my sacrifice for God and for you. This was day 13 of 21 days. Everyday for the next 21 days I will be keeping you posted with everything that happens throughout my fasting experience. You can also check out Potter's House Christian Church and download free podcast daily of every service in our 21 day fast. So stay plugged in everyday.
So are you or your church fasting this new year? If so how is it going? If not I invite you to dedicate and separate yourself for God, it will change the rest of your year.
Until next time
Stay blessed

Sunday Setlist (Fasting Edition) - Day 6 & 7
What's up everyone hope you are enjoying this new year! !I am fired up to be sharing with you my not only my fasting but my Sunday Setlist which is hosted by Fred McKinnon and other worshipers at Fred McKinnon.Com.We'll I completed my 6th and 7th day of this 21 day Daniel fast. To check out every detail of this fast go to Jentenzen Franklin.org
I have slacking but it has been a busy week for me. My church has been having service every night since we have begun this Daniel fast. But here I am. Day 6 which was Saturday was good but hard. For some reason I think Saturday's are going to be the hardest, but we will see. Overall Day 6 was good, we spent most of the day at my in-laws, we my wife and mother in law made some amazing food. Here it is
I pretty much ate the same meal Day 7 as well. But here we have Guacamole salad with home made Chinese rice (I believe made out of brown rice) with plantains and not from concentrate orange juice. Very delicious food!Day 7, which was yesterday was busy day. Let me get to my Sunday Set list.
1. Another level (Israel Houghton) - F
Fun song! My wife lead this song, she did awesome. I played brass sound with this song, it added some nice affects to the song. Very fun.
2. You are my God (Israel Houghton) - Bb
When we do this song we do it really reggae style. Love it. It brings variety to the set list. My wife also lead this song.
3. My Soul longs for you (Misty Edwards) - Bm
Very powerful song! I can never get enough of this song. On Friday we translated it in Spanish. If you are interested in the Spanish lyrics, let me know.
4. Sing to the Lord (Hillsong United) - A
This is one of our new songs. It is our second week in a row bringing and the congregation is really grabbing it. Very powerful song!
5. You are here (Same Power) -B
This song was added last minute. I felt in my spirit to bring this song and I am glad I did. It really was the cherry on top of this entire set list. I played a synth to this song and man it sounded amazing.
6. I'm not ashamed (Hillsong United) - C
This song is also one of our new song. Very energetic song!
Like I said the entire day yesterday was busy. I played 9am, 11am, and 7:30pm services. It was great experience. Like I said earlier I pretty much ate the same meal as Saturday.
This was day 6 and 7 of 21 days.

Until next time
Stay blessed.

Spotlight Addiction!
***Spotlight Addiction has been featured in theworshipcommunity.com***Is your worship team addicted to the spotlight?
As I sat with a good friend of mine a couple of nights ago, we spoke about our worship teams spirituality and where it was at and we both came to a conclusion (or revelation) of how being in the spotlight (as a member of the worship team) could become and addiction, if there isn't a strong relationship with Christ. It could cause an addiction to being in the limelight, being the center of attention, getting praises from everyone, and the list can go on and on.
Several questions stayed in my mind that entire night, like "Is my worship team addicted to the spotlight?", "Are other worship teams addicted to the spotlight of there calling and responsibility?".
Have you ever thought this question before? As worship leaders we must know what is driving our people to come to rehearsals and services, week in and week out. Is it the genuine passion to worship God and be a vessel used for His glory to bring others to His presence, that is driving our people? Or is it the excitement of being on stage with the spotlight directed on you and all eyes focused on you, and your craving for the attention and importance is being satisfied at that moment, that is driving our people?...... (Sorry I know you were into it.)

Sunday Setlist
What's up everyone hope you are enjoying the start to your first week of 2009!I am fired up to be sharing with you my Sunday Setlist which is hosted by Fred McKinnon and other worshipers at Fred McKinnon.Com.Well let me get right to it. I led our traditional Sunday morning service. Here are the songs:
1. I'm not ashamed (Hillsong United) - C
Great song! It was one of our new ones that we brought in. The congregation loved it. I started the intro with a synth sound and the guys rocked out the rest.
2. You're Grace is Enough (Christ Tomlin) - A
One of our favorites.
3. Sing to the Lord (Hillsong United) - A
Awesome song! This song was also another one of our new ones and really made an impact in people lives. I definately recommend this song to any worship team.
4. How Great is our God - (Chris Tomlin) - A
This song always grabs the people. I just love fading the music away and hearing the congregation sing it. It blows me away each time.
5. Take it All - (Hillsong United) - B
Another favorite.
Overall everything went great. We missed one of our guitar players and a couple of singer so we had to make use of who we had. But God was glorified and the people received.
How was your Sunday morning service? Please share
Until next time

What a Night....
1. I'm not Ashamed (Hillsong United) - C
2. Run (Hillsong United) - Eb
3. Control (Mutemath) - B
4. Sing to the Lord (Hillsong United) - A
5. Take it All (Hillsong United) - B
Worship was amazing. Our new ones were #1 & 4. I am so proud of my worship team for stepping up and getting these songs.
Once worship was over I stepped up and preached a message titled "The time is now". It was a word that ministered to me. I told our sound tech to record it but He forgot, so I really have nothing for you to hear. But I will redue it and put in my podcast for you to enjoy as well.
But one of the best parts of the night was seeing my music mentors, Manny & Nelitza Gonzalez come to our service last night all the way from North Carolina. That meant so much to me. These are the people that took me under there wing when I began this journey in the worship team. I am who I am today because of there teaching, commitment, love, and example to me as worship leaders. They also got to receive the word I got, so they pretty much got the full package from me. After Service we enjoyed wings at Ale House. We spoke so much about worship, life, etc. If it wasn't for the time we would have been so much more longer. I love them so much!
Thank you for your prayers, persistance, love, and belief in me and my wife. We will never forget you's.
Do you have music/worship mentors in your life? Speak about them, I want to hear from you.Until next time
Stay blessed people!

New Year's Setlist
It is 2009! How was last moments of 2008? We'll me and my family spend the New Year's at church. This year we threw down a big special New Year's Service Bash. Not only I am I dedicating this post to wish you a Happy New Year, but to also share with you my special New Year's Setlist. I lead this bio lingual service. I haven't done a bio lingual service since last year. But I had an incredible time up there.(I have to warn everyone that there is are some Spanish in this post, but if you have any questions just comment me back.)
1. Hoy estamos aqui (We are today) - F
Very very fun song. It had the Latin salsa feel to it. It was the perfect song to start with. My good friend Humberto lead this song.
2. Take it All (Tomalo) - B
This is one of our favorites in English, so we decided to do it in Spanish as well. Here is a video of it:
New Year's Service from Johnny Sierra on Vimeo.
3.I know who I am (Yo se quien yo soy) - A
This was one of our new one's this year and I really wanted to bring it. The only thing was that there was not translation of it in Spanish. So I translated the entire chorus of the song into Spanish. It was fun.
4.Blessed be your name (Bendito eres tu) - A
This one was one of our older one's but it was a bio lingual song that was fun, and easy.
5.Bendecire tu nombre (I will bless your name) - A
Another good friend of mine, Gina lead this song. This song was the transitional song from all the fast one's to the slow songs. I love songs like this because it makes it so easy to transition from fast to slow. Awesome song. It was another new one that we did this year.
6.Mighty to Save (Mi Dios puede salvar) - D
You know I had to bring this one, once I found out that there was Spanish lyrics to it! I love this song and the congregational really opened up with it. It was an incredible time of worship.
7. How Great is our God (Cuan grande es Dios) - C
This song was the cherry on top! The congregation know this song very well so we really didn't have to do much. Man, it blew me away when we stopped all the music/vocals and it was just the congregation singing! Don't you love when that happens?
Did your church have a New Year's service? If so, How did it go?

Sunday Setlist
What's up everyone! Welcome to the Life of a Worshiper. I am excited to be sharing with you my Sunday Setlist which is hosted by Fred McKinnon and other worshipers at Fred McKinnon.Com.Now that Christmas is over it is time to put the Christmas songs in the closet and out with some new worship songs. We'll today was pretty good despite missing quite a few members due to holiday traveling, Christmas hangovers (not with alcohol), or other things. I was so tired this morning, (probably due to playing xbox live the night before till 2am) that effected me quite a bit. It seemed a little different this morning though. It seemed like the congregation was also tired today as well. Kelly one of our members lead worship this morning. She did such a great job.
Here is the lineup:
1. Rain over Me - (Johnny Sierra) Bb
This was a song that I wrote a couple of years back. It was good to play it because I always lead it. Very fun!
2. One Way - (Hillsong United) - Bb
Great mix with our first song. The notes were basically almost identical to one another. The congregation really get's in to this song. Very fun!
3. Come live in Me - B
One of our older one's but still good. I never played this one so it was good to play on of the songs that really blessed me growing up in my church.
4. Father You're Glorious - (Jonathon Stockstill) - F
Great song. One of my favorites. This song really elevated us. God's presence really moved
5. You Are (All about you) - B
This was our last song after the offering. We jammed out on this one!
Overall everything was great. Not as much fire as we have seen the last weeks in our congregation but I know God moved greatly. I am proud of our entire team they did a great job!
Until next time
Stay blessed

Sunday Setlist (Christmas Edition)
Merry Christmas everyone! Welcome to the Christmas Edition of Sunday Setlist. I am excited to be sharing with you my Sunday Setlist which is hosted by Fred McKinnon and other worshipers at Fred McKinnon.Com.Wow! Are services on Sunday Mornings are getting better and better each week. Are your's? I lead worship this Sunday and it was another great experience for me. On top of that I was a part of a Christmas Production titled "Scrooge That". If you haven't yet, please check out my post titled "The 1800's A Tribute to our Grandparents" you might want to check that out first to get you some what prepared.
Anyways let me get to my Sunday Setlist before that. Here it is:
1st - Celebrate, Jesus Celebrate - A
Fun song. I haven't done this song is a while but it was perfect for the our service. The congregation is very familiar with this song and really grabbed on to it.
2nd - New Season/Latter will be greater (Mix) (Israel Houghton) - F
Great song! The mix that we did in having both of these songs into one, really came out great. It is what this congregation needed. Many people have been going through a lot in our church this year but I really believe this song really brought back some hope and faith.
3rd - Agnus Dei (Michael W. Smith) - C
I forgot how powerful this song was. Again it just seemed like most of these songs were what was needed for the people of God. We built on the music, starting soft then by the end of it we got strong musically and vocally. Great song!
4th - Felix Navidad (Carlos Santana) - F
You thought I was going to go through this holiday season without singing at least one Christmas song in our worship sets? We'll we did. This song was fun and full of energy.
We'll like I told you earlier I was also a part of our Christmas Production titled "Scrooge That". Let me introduce to some of the cast members. Here they are!
Scrooge Cast from Johnny Sierra on Vimeo.
That was some of them. They were all great throughout the event. You are probably wanting to see the play, right? Ok here is a piece of the "Scrooge That" Christmas play. Enjoy!

Sunday Setlist
What's up everyone! Welcome to the Life of a Worshiper. I am excited to be sharing with you my Sunday Setlist which is hosted by Fred McKinnon and other worshipers at Fred McKinnon.Com. I don't know about you but over here at the Potter's House Christian church in Orlando, FL, God is moving in different ways. The atmosphere is so different but special and something that I do not want to push away or hinder. Has that been happening in your services?Today's morning service was so special. Like I said earlier the atmosphere was so different. I don't know how to say it but it was so easy to lead worship today. Have you ever that way? That you hardly needed to do anything because the spirit of God was moving so amazingly. That is how it was this morning. Here is a video below that will show you a bit of what went on.
Sunday Morning Service 10-14-08 from Johnny Sierra on Vimeo.
I lead at the keys today, which for some reason I was really nervous doing. We had our new guitarist start with us today. He's name is Stephen. He did really good and if he continues to practice hard, the sky is the limit for him. Here is our setlist:
1. I am Free (Michael Gungor) - D
I think this was the perfect song to start our service. It really sparked the congregation.
2. Beautiful One (Jeremy Camp) - G
Great and easy song! It really flowed with I am Free.
3. My Soul longs for you (Misty Edwards) - Bm
Wow! Let me tell you that this song is awesome. We did it on Friday and had to do it again this morning. It is so powerful. The Spirit of God really took control of the atmosphere.
4. Mighty to Save (Hillsong United) - D
This song sealed it for us. It put the cherry on top. We also did this song on Friday but decided to do it again. Anybody that has done this song knows that the chorus of this song is powerful.
5. Rejoice (Israel Houghton) - E
Great song! Simple but the words are powerful.
Our Pastor brought a great word this morning and had me stay at the keys. Before the calling came God was togging on my heart to prepare to sing "How Great is our God" and we did. Our Pastor made the altar call and we began singing this song. This was the perfect song for what took place at that altar, at that moment. It surely was a beautiful moment in the presence of God.
How was your Sunday Service?
Please share
P.S. Don't forget that I am hosting here at "The Life of a Worshiper" a similar post/thread titled "Youth Group Nation". It is inpired by Fred McKinnon's Sunday Setlist but goes in depth into our youth group services. If you lead your youth group worship services than this is the place to come on Friday night's. Sunday Setlist
What up everyone! Hope you've enjoyed your weekend. Mine has been great and full of great worship. This setlist is a part of Fred McKinnon's "Sunday Setlist". Check out what other worship leaders and services are doing across the country. Also don't forget that I am hosting "Youth Group Nation" under the inspiration of "Sunday Setlist" at FredMckinnon.com. This is a weekly Friday post, where you get to share how your youth service went, your worship setlist, etc. To check out the details of my youth service check this link out and be a part of it. http://johnnysierra.blogspot.com/2008/12/youth-group-friday.htmlPlease share and spread the word!
Anyways (sorry for the advertisement!) here is my worship setlist that I lead at The Potter's House in beautiful Orlando, FL :
1. I know who I am (Israel Houghton) - A
Very exciting song. This is a great opening service song. This song really brought life to our congregation (remember this is a 9am service!).
2. You're Grace is Enough (Chris Tomlin) -
This song really went well, especially after "I Know who I am". The tempo for both songs were pretty much similar as well as the melody so the flow was great. We try to eliminate down time in between songs we want everything to flow together.
3. Start a Fire - F#
Amazing song. This is a song that we haven't done in a while but it was the perfect one for our Sunday service. Our Pastor spoke about maintaining the Fire and passion of God in our lives and this song really hit it on the dot. The congregation responded greatly to this song. The last 4 weeks have been full of fire and energy (especially in our 9am service.).
4. Freedom Reigns (Jason Upton) - C
Wow! That is all I can say. This song is a very prophetic and really spoke to the congregation. The flow from "Start a Fire" to "Freedom Reigns" was amazing. The song sealed the deal. It was the cherry on top!
5. One way (Hillsong United) - E
Fun, Fun song. I believe it was Fred McKinnon's "Freeplay Friday", where his daughter suggested "One Way". Do it! Do it! Do it! This song is very fun and exciting. We have been singing it for almost 6 months now and it is definitely a crowd getter(or something like that! lol!).
This weekend has been amazing. All the Glory to God. Thanks for taking time to read my Sunday Setlist.
How was your Sunday service? Please leave your comments. Thanks.

Sunday Setlist

God bless everybody! Hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend as we come to a close. We had a great 9:00am service this morning at The Potter's House Christian Church in Orlando,FL. My wife lead the entire service with a total of 4 songs. I am so proud of her because she was so sick this weekend but was so willing and determined to lead. I played the keys but I will be leading this weekend coming up. Here are the songs:
Break Free - F# (Hillsong United)
We started the service with an intro of F# to D. I played a synthesized string sound and every 8 counts we elevated the sound till we began the song. This song was great it really brung excitement to the congregation. It is also one of our fun ones that we like to do.
More love, More power - G#
This song is also one of our favorites. It is a slower tempo song so it prepared the atmosphere for our next slow song.
You deserve the Glory - E
Great song! The congregation really responded greatly to this song. This song is of our oldies but goodies. Every time we sing it, everyone really gets into it. It is just one of those songs.
Blessed be the Name - E
Classic! It is one of those songs that we keep in our back pocket if the unexpected happens (which did happen!).
Overall great service. I've been praying for God presence to really show up (especially in our 9:00am) and it did! For the last 3 weeks this service has been incredible and I give God all the glory!
I’m posting my worship recap along with other worship leaders at “Sunday Setlists” over at FredMcKinnon.Com so check out what other people are saying!
How was your Sunday service like? What songs did your church do? Please share
Until next time
Stay blessed

Sunday Setlist
The lineup started with
Rejoice (Israel Houghton) - Germarie lead this one. It was funny because she was getting over a sickness, so she really didn't want to go higher that what she had to for any of her songs. But for this one she ended up going to low that she sang harmony throughout the whole song. But it ok, God was still glorified.
I want more - Germarie followed with this song. The musicians really transitioned well from the first song to this one. This song is one of our "oldies" so the congregation really responded well and really got into this one.
Holiness - Crystal lead this one and did a good job. The congregation was really into the last one so when we brought this one it really just added more. I was in the crowds and it was an amazing energy and passion that I felt.
You are (It's all about You) - Crystal lead this one as well. It was a really fun one. Another one of our "oldies" but fun. Prior to this last weekend we haven't done this song in a while so it felt fresh.
We'll that about wraps it up for our Setlists, I hope you enjoyed our Worship set. This Sunday Setlist is in collaboration with others at “Sunday Setlists” at FredMcKinnon.Com . Check it out and hear others comment on there Sunday Worship service.
